About ReadClock

ReadClock counts Unicode letter/number groups, allowing internal straight or curly apostrophes; hyphens split. It estimates raw seconds as60×word groups/assumed WPM and rounds the headline upward. Empty text gives zero. The convention is not linguistic segmentation for every language.

Manual rehearsal timing

Reading Rehearsal Studio uses three text sections, 30–600 assumed WPM and 0–60 seconds of planned pause per section. Planned timing is the unrounded sum of word estimates and explicit pauses. Begin rehearsal uses the browser’s monotonic clock; Next section captures actual elapsed section duration, including delivery pauses. Mark a cue records an elapsed timestamp. No speech recognition or automatic recording starts.

The 11/12/10 second sample and 8/21 second cues are explicitly illustrative. A partial or stopped rehearsal cannot be exported. Editing the script invalidates prior timings until a new full rehearsal or the illustrative sample is loaded. Planned pace/pauses are assumptions, not measurements of articulation speed or comprehension.

Feedback and clips

A feedback packet contains the selected timings/cues, question and optional permitted script. PNG never includes script text. Optional audio/video clips stay local and never enter exported files or recipient links. Recipient packets are fixed snapshots; any permitted clip must be sent separately through your chosen private channel.
